Winter is Here!

It's only been 6 weeks since the last time I groomed them but they already look very shaggy :op ...

Grooming my own little guys can take several hours...
But it's totally worth it! They look so very fresh and clean!
I love the fact that I get to dress my kids for winter! The summer time is a bit too hot for them to have certain clothes on, so I take advantage of the winter chill '`,、('∀`) '`,、

Making them wearing clothes can cause their hair to get mats. Wherever the clothes touch them should be short enough so they won't get matted!
Awweee I love it! Ready for winter!

November and December are the busiest months for grooming. Everybody wants their pooches to be clean and stylish for the holidays. I totally understand (*^_^*).

Here is Oliver. All the sudden he a puppy again!(*´∀`)
Gavin: it's always so hard for me to pick a picture for him because all the pictures of him are great (he is my little photogenic model!).

I narrowed them down to two but I couldn't make a final decision. They look great in different ways so here is both pictures. See...you couldn't choose one could you!?  (^_-)-☆
Ginger: I was concerned that I may have to shave her down because she was very matted from her cute Halloween costume.

Luckily, after a few hours of de-matting, she was completely mat-free! Phew...I'd hate to see her shaved down because she has such a beautiful coat! Good girl Ginger...thank you for your patient(・ω<)
Charlie, it's been a while since seeing him because his skin was very irritated this summer. Poor Charlie(T_T), I could still see a little bit of the scars but I was happy to see that his skin is much better now!

I made his face into a Terrier puppy shape this time, just like Pocky and Pretz ☆彡
David Bowie (the Rockstar!), since he just had a whole grooming not too long ago, he still looked Great and only got a bath this time.

Pure White ❤
Ziggy: he was here for a de-shedding treatment. You'd be surprised how much dogs shed, even the smaller ones!

After the bath he must have felt even more handsome...look at this confident pose! (^^)v

Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

Happy Halloween!

We were so excited that our best friends were in town for Halloween weekend!

Since I didn't have time to give Choco a nice de-shedding treatment last time, he went to straight for a bath as soon as he got here.

It always amazes me how well de-shedding treatment works for a shedding dog! His papa and mama were very happy with the result (*^_^*)
Now it's show time~! What are the kids going to be this year...

Entry #1 Jasper the Spider!!!!
Jasper was running around the house with this costume on...he was moving very quickly...it was actually a little bit creepy...I wish I would have recorded it...

Entry #2 Pretz the Bumble Bee!!!!
This costume was a very perfect fit on her. I hate to take this off after today... ヽ(*´∀`)ノ♪

Entry #3 Choco the Tricera-Dog!!!!
A simple costume but it was perfect for Choco! We love it!

Entry #4 Pocky the Stegosaurus!!!
As usual, he stopped moving as soon as I put the costume on...the most non-scary stegosaurus ever!!!

I know they are not big fans of wearing costumes but they all look scary adorable!!! (*^_^*) Hey Guys! Happy Halloween!
Of course, the kids are not the only ones dressed up for Halloween. We had a Kevin Hart stand-up comedy show to attend so we decided to go with our costumes on!
I'm pretty sure you can tell what this is all about...but let me introduce you from the left in the picture.

"Unemployed" Big Bird (because of Romney), Cookie Monster, Oscar the Grouch, Mitt Romney with his binder full of woman, the Count, and Grover.

Nobody was dressed up but us...oh well we did have a great time and it looked like people enjoyed our costumes as well (^^)

We walked around Downtown afterward. A lot of people were wearing costumes. We enjoyed the night!

Carving Pumpkin!

Halloween is just around the corner!

I had a friend of mine come visit from Japan for five days. Since she's has never carved a pumpkin before, we decided to try something of an American traditional. We drew the draft on the pumpkin perfectly (*^^)v

Papa showed us how we start it with the small pumpkin...
It doesn't look so hard. We'll see how it goes for the big pumpkin, but before that...Pretz, come here! I wanted to compare how big this pumpkin is...
Wow...almost the same size as Pretz...It's going to be a long night(^_^;)

Come everyone! Hi Cheeeeeszu!
Hahaha so cute!

Ok, back to reality. Let's do this!
Now this is the only easy part...scoop all the seeds and fiber out.

Then, the most fun and tedious time began!
Kids were coming up to us to cheer us on..or maybe they came for the tasty smell of the pumpkin. They probably thought they could get some pieces of pumpkin...(・_・;) You wish kids!(*^。^*)

It's taking much longer than we thought it would...
After a lot of time and effort...
We did it! These are going to be awesome when we light them up! We are ready for Halloween now!
Ready for the festivities???

Tada~~~~♫♪
I think we did excellent job!

Even though carving pumpkin is a lot of work, when I see them perfectly lit up, it motivates me for the next year. My friend was very excited to see the finished product. She did a great job! Now she can demonstrate to her friends in Japan how to carve a Halloween Pumpkin!  (^^ゞ
We had a great time・:*:・(*´∀`*)・:*:・

Here is some more grooming that I've done this past week!

Rocky, the Yorkie and Poodle mix!
He reminds me of my DC client Malone. He is very small and nimble as well. No more mats...nice and fresh!

David Bowie, the Maltese and Poodle mix! Yes he is a rock star!!
If he sees you outside with another dog, he will sing like a rock star. Watch for it! (^^♪

Clarence, the Shih Tzu! He is Pocky, Pretz, and Jasper's cousin! They were happy to see each other(*^_^*) It's been a while. He is a very independent and fearless boy. He is not a big fan of grooming but he has no choice...
See much better '`,、('∀`) '`,、 His mama had to work so he was hanging out at our place until his mom got here. Look where he was...
He jumped on the window sill like a cat and was watching outside. Funny little guy (^^) I don't think our dogs even thought about doing that. I'll see you on Thanksgiving Clarence!

Nice to Meet You!

Pocky, Pretz, and Jasper made a new friend! At first I thought she was a Gooldendoodle but she is actually a Cocker Spaniel and Bishon Frise mix. Her name is Ginger (*^_^*) She has lots of energy and every time she moves, her fluffy hair waves...like a moving stuffed animal(*^^)

She came in for bathing and partial trimming, but before I started working on her, it was introductions and play time as usual (^^♪
I think Pocky fell in love with her...he was stalking her the entire time! Sorry Pretz...(^_^;)
After grooming she got even prettier! Now we can see her pretty face better! I can't blame Pocky...she is a cutie・:*:・(*´∀`*)・:*:・Pocky and I are looking forward to seeing you again!

Next doggie is Mr. Gavin! Yes He sang again (^^♪ He was probably singing "I don't like nail clipping so do it quickly~~♪ ♫") hahaha I understand Gavin, I'll do it quickly. You won't even notice!
See!? It wasn't so bad was it?? (^^) You are all set! He is a very photogenic guy. All the pictures are great and I had a hard time picking one for my blog. Gavin, the model (*^^)v

Last of the doggies is Otis. His facial hair grew much faster than I expected! I saw his beard was dipping into his water and food. No worries Otis, I can help you with that (^^ゞ
There you go! His beard is much shorter but still has a Brussel Grrifon look! He was very happy to see his mom after grooming and of course he now gets a his favorite after-grooming reward...treat time\(^o^)/ His nibble-and-walk makes me laugh all the time. Great dog! See you next month Otis (^^)

Happy Surprise!

We were in DC this past weekend to attend friend's wedding in Maryland. Good times always go by quickly. Once we realize, it's already time to go home. (-_-メ) Well kids, buckle up! We are going home!
?? Who is laying down next to Pretz??
Some people may recognize him from my blog. Yes, It's Jasper!
Long story short, we decided to adopt Jasper! He was our neighbor when we lived in DC. We are very excited to have him as a part of our family! (*^_^*)
As soon as we got home, I gave him a nice bath and a hair cut.
Perfect!
Now it's time to go have some fun! Let's go to the Dog Park!
It was the middle of the day and not many dogs were there but they seemed to have plenty of fun on their own! (^^) They even got to try out the new doggie canteen Papa got for them!
Jasper's roommate in DC was a big dog so he is very used to hanging out with big dogs. Maybe we will try the big dog area next time(ノ´∀`*)
After the dog park, we stopped by Phydeaux to pick up something for Jasper...
A matching food bowl with Pocky and Pretz! So necessary.(^^♪
Welcome to our family Jasper! We are going to have so much fun!・:*:・(*´∀`*)・:*:・

Now back to grooming...Maggie is back! She is going to take a trip with her parents to a big city soon.
There you go Maggie, you look very pretty...look at those eyes! ❤ Have a safe trip and don't do anything I wouldn't do! lol (*^_^*)

SPARKcon

The past weekend was the seventh annual SPARKcon.

What is SPARKcon?? It's an event to showcase, celebrate and influence the creative momentum of the Triangle region of NC.

One of my favorites is artSPARK with the chalk street paintings. Since we had a little spare time on Saturday, we took our kids and cousin Choco to Fayetteville St for the street art. As soon as we turned onto the street, it was already filled with paintings!!!!

Supposedly, over 400 artists worked to transform the streets into beautiful works of art!!! Every piece was amazing...

Pretz was especially excited to be around so many people. She couldn't focus on walking straight but at the same time, she looked like she was checking out each piece of art (^_^;)
I also found the perfect art works for Choco and Pocky!
There was also bazaarSPARK on Fayetteville St with around 50 local artists and designers selling their wares! One of Papa's friends co-owns FYSH clothing company (http://www.fyshclothing.com/temp/shop.html) and they had their own booth.
They were doing some serious business! One more push, maybe our kids can help them (*^_^*)
They were definitely getting a lot of attention from people on the street! "Please stop by this booth..."
Assistant Manager is right...where is Pretz...while Pocky and Choco were working hard!!! Well...like I said earlier, she was still excited with all the things going on there...she was all over the place...

Anyway it was a great event! I'm already excited about the street painting next year!

And now, it's grooming time for Pocky and Pretz... The last time was only a bath and a light trim. They are getting the whole grooming this time!
I actually do like his hair long, but it grows very quickly...hopefully this will last at least three weeks...

I was growing Pretz's facial hair out on purpose to give her an afro-style cut, but I came to the conclusion that she may not have the density for that...so I did something different this time...(*^_^*)

I love it! She still looks very girly! (She just doesn't act like one...(^_^;)...hopefully one day....)

I also had another grooming the other day, an Australian Shepherd named Rusty! He was a very energetic and happy dog. It looked like he enjoyed every moment and movement he made. It makes me happy by just looking at him (ノ´∀`*)

Goodbye to the summer coat, and let's getting ready for fall!

2013 Adorable Pet Calender & Fundraiser

One of our friends told us about the 2013 adorable pet calender & fundraiser. I immediately visited the website to check out what this is all about. Basically you nominate your pet through triangle.com and the top 13 will be selected through the voting process to be photographed by a professional photographer and featured in the 12-month calender! The pet with the most votes will be featured on the cover and the other 12 will be a featured pet on one of the calender months chosen by a graphic design team.
Of course I nominated Pocky and Pretz both without hesitation (*^_^*)

Hope One of them or both get selected to be in the calender for 2013!

Getting back to grooming, let me introduce a Brussels Griffon, Otis.
He is not a big fan of grooming just like most other doggies. When he saw me the first time, he was hiding behind his mom peaking nervously...reminded me Pocky. No worries Otis, it's not as bad as you think! Let's get started (^^♪
He was very nervous and shaking on the table in the beginning but as I talked to him while grooming, he got used to it really quickly(^-^)He gave me a lot of kisses when I was grooming his face・:*:・(*´∀`*)・:*:・very sweet doggie.
He was very happy to see his mom after the grooming and so was his mom. It's one of the best moments to see doggies' and the owners' happiness with a grooming; the highlight to being a groomer(*^_^*)
